Statement of Faith
The Bible
The Bible was written by God, through man and is without error in the original writings.
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness…” 2 Tim 3:16
God
Father, Son and Holy Spirit
The great “I am”. There is one God. He is all powerful, all-knowing and all merciful. We were created by Him, for Him. God was not created; He dwells outside the realm of time and has always been there. He is 3 distinct persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (also known as the Trinity / 3-in-one).
Salvation
Salvation is only found through Jesus and His sacrifice. Eternal life is only by GRACE, through faith and not by works.
To be saved, you must believe in Jesus Christ ALONE; Salvation is NOT found in a religion or good works, but in the sacrifice of the Lord JESUS CHRIST!
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him will not perish, but have everlasting life”. (John 3:16)
Jesus gave His life as a sacrifice to atone (pay the price for) our punishment; he paid our fine, the price for our sins by dying on a cruel rugged cross at the hands of the people He created. He shed His life’s blood that we might live.
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”(Romans 5:8)
“This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.”(1st Timothy 1:15)
“Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ…”(1st Peter 1:18-19)
Further:
This ministry, website and the various articles are written by different Christians volunteers from varying Christian denominations. As a result, some of the articles may contain viewpoints that are not aligned with your particular understanding of scripture. At times some of us will be right and some of us will be wrong. Please don’t take the high ground of discrediting an entire website or ministry because of differing understandings of things that theologians have been debating for centuries.
For the purposes of evangelism, let us focus our time, energy and resources on sharing the Gospel with those that are heading to an eternal Hell. We will have eternity to learn about the finer points of Christianity and where we were wrong. This is not to disregard or discredit the role of Biblical teachers, instruction, and theology. It is simply an encouragement to “get out there with what you know”. There is still a place for in-depth teaching, study, learning, debate and doctrinal exploration but not at the expense of proclaiming the Gospel.
We don’t intend to push, defend or promote specific controversial doctrines. Rather, for the sake of the Gospel, we intent to promote unity on the common grounds of evangelism. This is the promotion and proclamation of the Gospel and of salvation and not the debate of the steps and processes of ongoing sanctification. While sanctification (becoming more holy) is important and also the various steps of obedience and ongoing biblical teaching, these are all topics for discussion and debate on some of the more general Christian Forum websites.
